I really want to become a stand up comedian. I’ve been writing down jokes and working on my routine, but I’m not sure about how I should get myself out there. Does anyone know?

Usually there is a comedy night at some of the night clubs. Where people can do their thing on stage in front of a crowd of drunks(or close to it) Gives you to chance to try out your schtick.

I’m in the U.S. but I would guess that it’s pretty much the same. I would think that you can probably just go to a club and speak to the owner or manager or whoever and see if you can get some time on the stage. They probably have something like amateur night but if you go to meet someone they might ask you to audition or see your material. So you might want to bring your material with you so they can check it out.
